The global energy program called Energizing Development or EnDev was initiated approximately 3 years ago by the Dutch government. It is also basically a cooperation program between Dutch government and German government. The target of EnDev is giving energy access to approximately 10 million people before 2015 (target year of MDG). EnDev is implemented by GTZ and operating in 19 developing countries in the world and active in four main areas of activities namely: energy for cooking, energy for household, energy for social infrastructure, and energy for productive use.
There is no limit for the type of renewable energy technology to be developed. There are hydro projects, biogas project, improved stove projects etc. For Indonesia it is focused on hydro power. Mini Hydro Power Project (MHPP) is the manifestation of EnDev in Indonesia. Operating for 3 years, there are many lessons learned and to accommodate dissemination and replication EnDev launched a rural energy portal called Energypedia at the following address http://www.energypedia.info/.
Those who are active in the projects around the world can write down their experiences and report the results of their projects. There are many good stuffs there to read or to download. This portal is semi closed portal therefore one has to register and it needs an approval from the moderator. As soon as one has registered, he or she can start browsing the content. There are many interesting content and if there are any new updates the site will automatically send notification to set email address.
It's worth registering to the site and learn from what they have done.
